IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING — Compounded semaglutide has not been reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety or effectiveness. Semaglutide carries a Boxed Warning for risk of thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), based on animal studies. It is unknown whether semaglutide causes thyroid C-cell tumors in humans. Compounded semaglutide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
Common Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, fatigue, dizziness, headache. Usually mild and improve with time.
Who Should Not Use This Medication
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to semaglutide
- History of pancreatitis
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Patients under 18 years of age
